Avril 2017, le ANATOLIY TORCHINOV arrive dans le port chinois de Qingdao avec 16 membres d'équipage. A bord, in n'y a presque plus de nourriture et d'eau, plus de carburant. Les salaires ne sont plus versés depuis le début de l'année. Deux marins sont si malades qu'ils doivent être transportés dans un hôpital. Le navire est saisi par les autorités. Même si le propriétaire officiel du ANATOLIY TORCHINOV est la « Sakhaline Shipping Company », l'armateur gérant du cargo est la compagnie « MV-Line Co Ltd-Rus » à Vladivostok. La « MV-Line » est insolvable. Ni l'entretien du navire, ni son avitaillement, ni les salaires et le rapatriement de l'équipage, ne peuvent être payés. La « MV-Line » possède trois autres navires, qui se trouvent dans la même situation de détresse. La dette dépasse les 4 millions de roubles.
La solution est enfin trouvée fin juin. Le ANATOLIY TORCHINOV est vendu pour être ferraillé. La vente permet de financer le rapatriement de l'équipage en Russie. Triste fin pour le dernier « Pioner Moskv », encore en service en Russie d'extrême Est. Le ANATOLIY TORCHINOV arrive aux chantiers de démolition de Nantong, le 5 juillet.

The « MV-Line » is insolvent. Neither the maintenance of the ship, nor its bunkering, nor the salaries and repatriation of the crew, can be paid. The « MV-Line » is chartering three other ships, which are in the same distress situation. The debt exceeds 4 million rubles.

The solution is finally found at the end of June. The ANATOLIY TORCHINOV is sold to be scrapped. The sale makes it possible to finance the repatriation of the crew in Russia. Sad end for the last "Pioner Moskv", still in service in Far East Russia. The ANATOLIY TORCHONOV arrives at the ship breaking yard in Nantong, on July 5th.
