NSC, Arkhangelsk was founded on May 16, 1870. NSC is the oldest Russian shipping company and the main timber carrier. The NSC fleet consists of unitized dry cargo ships with a DWT of 2200–14000 tonnes, which carry round timber, lumber, pulp-and-paper products, general cargo, bulk cargo, and other cargo types. Fourteen of the twenty seven "Pioner Moskvy" type vessels have trade for NSC.

The availability of ice-classed NSC vessels enables the shipping-line to operate in regions with difficult ice conditions in winter.

From Arkhangelsk and St Petersburg to Scandinavia, Holland, Germany, Belgium, France (sometimes Bayonne), Spain, ports of the Black Sea, Mediterranean sea, North Africa, Egypt....
NSC is specialized on transportation of cargo in containers, including reefer containers, transportation of conventional cargo, transportation of bulk cargo, transportation of dangerous goods.

NSC Fleet also consists of technical vessels : dredgers, dump hopper barges, tugboats, oil and storage tanker.

NSC, Arkhangelsk a été fondée en mai 1870. NSC est la plus ancienne compagnie maritime russe et la plus importante en ce qui concerne le transport du bois. La flotte de la NSC se compose de cargos polyvalents d'un tonnage de 2200 à 14000 tonnes, qui transportent du bois de construction, du bois de charpente, de la pâte à papier, des cargaisons en vrac diverses, des conteneurs et d'autres types de cargaison. Quatorze des Vingt-sept "Pioner Moskvy" ont été exploités par la NSC.

Le classement "Ice-Classed" des navires de la NSC leur permet d'opérer dans des conditions de mer gelée pendant l'hiver.

Depuis Arkhangelsk et St Petersburg vers la Scandinavie, la Hollande, l'Allemagne, la Belgique, la France (parfois Bayonne), l'Espagne, l'es ports de la mer noire, de la Méditerranée, l'Afrique du Nord, l'Egypte....
NSC est spécialisé dans le transport de marchandises en conteneurs, incluant des conteneurs réfrigérés, le transport de marchandises sèches diverses, de vrac; transportation produits dangereux.

La flotte de la NSC comporte aussi différents navires techniques. Des dragues, chalants et barges, remorqueurs, pétrolier et stockeur.
