07-01-2009 : The SHINGAL was northbound in ballast through the Suez in ballast when an engine room fire onboard, at about 70km south of Port Said, 0930, January 7. An engineer was killed. The other 18 crew have been saved abd were repatriated. The ship was totally burned. The SHINGAL was northbound through the Suez when fire broke out. The wreck is now grounded and poses no risk to navigation. Broken up in Suez in 2011
